Putting Turtles Outside

colorfulcritters May 10, 2005 09:03 PM

I've been putting my turtles outside for at least a couple of hours each day. Any more, and they might get stolen. Do you think a couple of hours is sensible, or sufficient for them?

I mean by sensible if it won't harm them. Sometimes the water outside is colder than the aquarium inside. By sufficient, I just wonder if this is giving them enough VD for now. Later I hope to put them in a small pond.

Yes, a few hours a day will definately help them. Even if you can only get them out 20-30 minutes a few times a week, that's good.

Thanks. I'm rechecking this, which is why I'd posted. Someone else told me just a couple of hours would be perfect. Glad to hear it's less.
