Keeping Chucks together??

DixieDiana May 11, 2005 06:44 AM

I have read conflicting information about housing Chucks.
Some say they need to be kept solitary, others say you can house more than one in the same enclosure.

I was wondering if anyone here is housing more than one together?
What are the pros and cons?
Thanks in advance for information!

sometimes if you have an overly aggressive breeder male, you may have to separate him. I have a pair together and have never had any aggressive acts.

I house my pair of juvies together. Unlike my other lizards, they actually seem to enjoy each other's presence rather than merely tolerate it. They also seem to take a lot of behavioral cues from each other. For example if Gracie spooks, Rigel will go on heightened alert. Gracie also initially seemed reluctant about eating out of bowls and eating chopped greens, but once I introduced Rigel who was cb and had no issues with such things, Gracie quickly followed his lead.
