I've had a Day gecko for about 2 weeks now and she's been shedding for about a week. Most of it is off, there's just a few patches on her back and belly. I have the temps at around 85 and try to keep the humidity between 50-70 percent, although it does drop to around 47 on the days when I'm gone for 10 hours or so. Is this just a humidity problem? should I be worried? Does anyone have a good/inexpensive humidifier that they would recommend? By the way, she's about a year old.

Posting questions about day geckos in the day gecko subforum will yield you more replies. Raising the humidity will quicken the rate of shedding. There are numerous ways to maintain the humidity which includes; partially covering the top of the cage, using an automatic mister, increasing the humidity of the entire room with a normal room humidifier, and adding a combination of waterfalls, foggers, and real plants. Bigappleherp.com is one good website that has all of that and a few more options. LLL probably does too.

just give a few good mistings a day, especially when shedding. When I notice my girl is going to shed /or shedding I mist her directly , for a couple of days.

Then I will see the shed on the bottom next time I look . Comes off pretty quick.
