My sister just brought in a turtle from mowing to show me and I've never seen a turtle like this around here. I'm not sure if other box turtles besides three toed have three toes but this guy doesn't look like the three toes we usually find. His beak and throat are white with black speckles and he has bright redish orange spots on his front and back legs just like a red footed tortoise. he does have three toes on the back feet but I've never seen an Oklahoman turtle with markings like this. Any ideas? Is he just a really pretty three toed box turtle?

Can you post a picture? It is not uncommon for box turtles to have a lot of white and black on their throats. Is the shell pretty typical?

Yeah he had a pretty plain shell. But he was already released. I should have taken a picture.
