Very nice Melleri.... Is this one of the CBB ones from Kristina? I'd like to have one of those babies, stuff like that is hard to come by.

Yup, I got 6 of them to sell at the Raleigh show - which was a huge letdown of a show - so, not surprisingly, none sold. However, all 6 did very well, and even ate in front of screaming and pointing kids. I had to keep one.

I bought two from a breeder in Florida 2 years ago both were dead within a day(one was DOA). They were hatchlings. These guys are rock solid. Huge things too...mine is eating 1/2 inch crickets with no problem, and could eaisly down an adult, if I tried to feed him one. He's about 3.5 months old, and very heavy for his length.

If you want some, email Kristina, she might give you a price break if you get more than one. They seem to do very well in groups - it may be why she;s had such luck with them - they stressed out when separated from each other early on.

I had talked to her a while back right when they were hatching about getting one or two. I just kinda changed my mind at the time they came available, but I may be changing it back soon. I've had some babies last season that were CH supposedly 6-8 weeks old, and they did pretty bad. Most the WC adults have done bad for me also, but they're an awesome species and well started babies like this are by far the best possible way to get into the Melleri. Once again nice animal, you may see me with a few soon...

If they were 8 weeks old, how long were they? The ones I bought were supposed to be about 6 weeks old. Thing is, melleri can hatch out at 4 inches long. The ones I got were 3.9 inches long - small for hatchlings! They don't get too long, too fast, but they bulk up like crazy.

I've seen CH/CB melleri for sale at shows and through dealers that were SMALLER than my hatchling veileds.
