from TPW. We know that the license 157 is good for 5 days starting from one hour or the exact minute of execution to the next 5 days and expires on the exact hour and minute of that time period. After expiration of license while you are in transit and not hunting or not deemed as hunting, you are perfectly legal to travel with the legal taken animals but have your license available for viewing in case. The license 107 is good for 1 year. But as said, ( and i only asked about non-resident special permits non-game ), the expiration of the 107 is up on midnight, Aug. 31st no matter when you purchase it before hand. Also there is a switch-over of non-resident license about on that date as well where ( and we have experienced this before ), if you are seeking the 5 day license you may not get one at that date due to the computer generating switch over for the new season ( Aug. 31st ). We had that problem last year where no one in Fort Stockton had the new season programed and we were extremely lucky as Alpine had theirs ready to go. Texas does indeed allow all other states hunter education classes to be bona-fide in allowing the purchase of non-residents hunting license. Just have your certification of proof that you have had the class and it was suggested that have this on your person as well as your hunting license. One year non-resident special hunting 107 license is $125 with the same rules applied. There is no other license or permits needed.
