Field Herping tips

EricWI May 11, 2005 04:59 PM

Can anyone give me any field herping tips or strategies? There are two-three locations near where I live that appeared promising (edges of forest/prairie edges with log/rock piles, debris, cardboard signs, etc) that I have checked out two or three times, but have found nothing snake-wise. Am I looking in too few locations? I am disappointed because I don't think there are any snakes near where I live .

Tip: Keep looking, they are there. I've had many a snakeless night myself. Looking is half the fun. Photographing is the other
