I can't stand pie trays even for display. They are not user friendly because the lids are to difficult to get off and on.

i does require some body english to open the lids forearm and fingers. one thing that worries me is they are so loud!Drum LOUD w/ POP.CRACK,SNAP poor snake!

as you can see (besides the fact i have nothing better to do today) what I think of pie trays.

I bought these on sale at Kroger for 5 for .99. The fit three in a row on my shelves. Napkins fit in nicely.

When they get to yearling size I transfer them into these:

i use the zip loc rectanges to grow out hatchlings.
what do you think of pine shavings compared to aspen? Chris

I don't use pine shavings or aspen for neonates. To easy for them to have compaction problems at that smaller size. Thats why I use napkins or paper towels.

A far as adult snakes I use the pine shavings for 25 years with no problems and it a lot cheaper than aspen. I pay $4.00 a bale for pine. However if money was not an issue I would use aspen.
