How is the Lee Watson reptiles show in Streamwood, IL?

silenthill May 11, 2005 08:18 PM

Is it any good? I'm not sure if it's worth the long drive.

Its not bad. Always packed. They just started selling some really nice high end stuff like T Albino Blood Pythons and various ball python morphs. Its getting better and better I think. I go there once a month to stock up on supplies. Check it out atleast once.

Is there going to be a swap in early June? Where exactly is streamwood?

Theres one on June 4th. Streamwood is about 5-10 minutes from Woodfield Mall. Where are you coming from?

lol, I need a much broader picture. I have no idea on where any mall is I live in Edmonton, Alberta (about 9-10hr drive north of the Montana/Canada border) and have never been to Illinois. My wife is from Wisconsin, and I'm taking a trip so she can see her family and I can see some great herps. I'll be doing as much feild herping as I can during my 3 week stay (know any good places?) and will be making a loop from Madison south into Illinois to see Serpent Safari in Gurnee Mills, and then Rob Carmichael's rattlesnake exhibit in Lake Forest, on my way to the Milwaukee zoo.
I figured this reptile swap would've been a good to attend since I see it advertised in REPTILES magazine so often. I might be in northern WI on June 4th, but we'll see

Didn't realize you were coming from a land far far away. LOL. The swap is just ok in my opinion. They have some nice animals but nothing really special. Its hosted in a barn like building is always jammed pack. I mainly go there to buy supplies and thats it.

As far as the distance, its about 2 hours from Madison Wisconsin. Check out their website and do a mapquest for directions. As for me I wouldn't drive 2 hours to go to that show.

Maybe you should check out Brian of Chicago reptile house instead. I think its worth the trip. They have all kinds of highend boid morphs, birds, and fishes.
