About the burrowing....

BlueEyedDevil May 11, 2005 10:06 PM

I think I realized why she was doing it.To clarify... she doesn't do this on a regular basis but every once in a while.

She normally does use her hide so that was part of why the burrowing seemed weird. And her hide is big enough for her but it is not huge for her... I knew someone was going to mention that as soon as I posted that. I am aware that most snakes don't like hides to be too big but I appreciate the advice.

Now... I pulled her out today to see how she was doing & she is looking rather blue (or gray). She is getting ready to shed. I think she was soaking up the moisture in that end of the tank because it probably felt pretty good. I have been very diligent about keeping her whole tank pretty humid over the last while since I realized she was not being kept damp enough. (She looks & feels much better btw)

So at any rate... this will be her 2nd shed with me & I can't wait! She is an absolute sweetheart & a joy!

Again, I appreciate all the advice... I am like a new Mom with her... always worrying that something is wrong but I'm sure she is fine! (and this is my 2nd snake even... lol)

P.S. That is a gorgeous snake you have Mattias...
