Wondering about ACF food

Dana Jul 11, 2003 09:24 PM

I have had Stu, my Albino ACF, for about three years now. My boyfriend got him as a baby, and we fed him fish flakes and used to have to sink them in front of his face just so that he could find them.

I inherited Stu after my bf went on a month-long trek to Europe. I have him in a 5.5 gallon tank and currently feed him Reptomin that I break into smaller, bite-size pieces. I feed him about every other day.

I was wondering what else everyone feeds their ACF's and what others recommend. I read further down that I should try some guppies - in the past, he attacked and killed two goldfish I (foolishly) kept with him. Thanks!!

Hi! Aren't they neat frogs! One of the neatest things about ACFs is that they'll eat just about anything you put in front of them that's even remotely edible. I feed all of my ACFs(now 30), earthworms,Wardleys Reptile Sticks, pellet food for fish, some feeder fish, raw fish fillets, crickets, raw cut-up shrimp, beef heart, and Frog Jello(my own recipe). If you want to know anything more, just ask.

Actually you can feed these frogs just about anything.LOL They are little garbage disposals. I have fed mine tadpoles, fish, small frogs, worms, freeze dried tubifex worms, crickets, other insects, turtle food, chiclid food, goldfish food, and they've even treid to eat my fingers. LOL

Stu has nipped at my fingers as well!
