Blood in shed question.

PAsnake May 12, 2005 12:18 PM

Kula shed overnight last night and i noticed two small reddish brown spots where the vent is. The stain is on the shed, not on the snake's vent looks fine. I checked the other 5 sheds i have from Kula and none of the others show this. Kula did deficate sometims during the shedding process, could this be the cause or is it something else?

I tried to get a picture, but i haven't yet been able to get one to show, my camera seems like it can't focus on the shed.

thanks
Wayne

I see it pretty regularly on the sheds from my bunch. I don't believe it's significant unless you can find something wrong with the Corn itself.

I've heard a theory that it's from the twin hemipenes of a male, but I'm sure I've seen it in the odd (very odd!) female as well.

I have seen this in a couple of instances and everything has been just fine. Keep an eye on your snake for any possible changes (just in case) but I really don't beleive there will be a problem.

Thanks, Glad to know it shouldn't be anything to worry about. As i said Kula seems fine but i will keep an eye on him/her for the next few weeks.

Jimmy, great picture as usual, a snow? ( i am still alittle unsure on some morphs, but i think that one has enough coloration to make it snow and not blizzard, correct?)

thanks again

Wayne
