TEGU!

gopedrcr2005 May 12, 2005 02:03 PM

i got a B&W argentine tegu a few months ago. when i got him he was a little more than a hatchling. he is now about 2 feet. i was just wondering how you can tame or work with him so he is nicer? i know about holding them alot but like something that i can do while i’m holding him? he is not that bad now. he is primarily only fiesty when he is hungry. i hold him as often as possible and let him run around in my room. he hates getting taken out but is usually fine within a few minutes after i put him down on the floor. i want to get him tamer before he gets any bigger. he is in a 72x30x24 cage.

thanks, shane

There are many ways to calm a tegu and everyone has a method. My method is posted here.. http://thetegu.com/contentid-17.html

It has worked for a lot of people, but if you have a Colombian it can take a bit more time/work.

I hope you find it useful.
