I'm just wondering what water/weight ratio do you use for perlite?

I don't use a real exact ratio of water to perlite. I basically sprinkle/pour water over the desired amount of perlite until it clumps together in my hand but is not dripping wet, nor is there a visible amount of water in the bottom of the shoebox. Later during incubation, If I don't notice any condensation in the shoebox, I will add some water. I know this isn't very exact, but it has worked well with different colubrids.
