'05 TIGER Jaguars!!!!

Will Leary May 13, 2005 10:44 AM

The Tiger Jags are finally here!!! I can't even begin to express how happy we are with this clutch! They started pipping the very same morning as the A&E JCP clutch (5/10/05). As it turns out, I believe our original assumptions were correct. The single live Jaguar from last years clutch is in fact a "true" Tiger Jag -- and a very Hypo specimen at that. Many of the ones from this years clutch look very similar in overall pattern and coloration.

Some of the more notable characteristics include wide dorsal striping which runs the length of the body, and many have a very reduced pattern with white ovals along the laterals. Their color is unique and almost layered (like the one from last year), ranging from a peachy/flesh or creamy tan on the dorsal, white on the lateral and copper or chocolate brown markings. I think all of them display at least some degree of influence from both their parents. One of the hatchlings looks like a Tiger, but with very narrow stripes.

We would like to thank God for this wonderful season and it's many blessings, and also Jason Baylin for his part in this 2 year project. It was a long wait, but as you can see, it was well worth the time and effort.

Enjoy the pics!

And here's a quick shot of the '04 Tiger Jag...
