Logs from outdoors

I am wanting to collect some large branches from outdoors. I would like to keep the bark on the branches so that it's climbing surface is not slick. Do you clean the branches the same way with bleach if keeping the bark on the limb? Last time I collected a branch from outside I sprayed it with a bleach solution and then sprayed it with clean water after about a day. Will this be sufficient??

I soak everything I get from outside in a big tub for 6 hours with about 1 cup of clorox. Then i put it in the over for 2 hours to kill anything harmful. HAd worked for me.
