I have purchased my first batch of the silk worms (250), I've had them for 6 days and they are starting to die off rapidly. I've washed my hands before touching, cleaning, and feeding them. From what I've read they are prone to getting bacteria or something like that.
good luck!

Hey. If you're having die of problems, I wouldn't jump to the bacterial conclusion. It's probably diet or temperature.
Anyway, Silkworms are, in my opinion, extremely easy to raise and even breed. All my insectavores love them. The trick is providing them with the right temps and the right food. Although, I will say they get more and more fragile the larger they get. If you have an specific silkworm questions you may email me at Shambala@ku.edu
