Mating box turtle--when eggs?

NikkiM May 14, 2005 07:32 PM

I was wondering...I have 2 three-toed box turtles that are actively mating right now. About how soon after mating can or does the female usually lay the eggs? I think that she will most likely lay them in our strawberry patch (her favorite hideout). I would like to be able to know around when I can start looking for them, so that I can build a mesh-type of enclosure around them (Should I find them)to protect the hatchlings. Any and all advice would be appreciated--we are new at this!!!

Thanks in advance,

Nikki
