I picked up this guy today at a reptile show. 04 male Black Ratsnake. (Virginia locality). Looks like he's going to be a nice solid black color when he gets older. Thanks for looking.

.

Very nice. Where is this one from? Eastern Blacks seem to be much darker then ones from the western part of its range. Very nice looking little snake. Congrats!
This one is from Virginia. More specific, the south Western part of the state in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Around Rockbridge county.

Congrats on another fine looking ratsnake....Paul
Ratsnakes are addictive. Come to think of it, all colubrids are addictive. Now next on my list is to obtain a nice white oak grey rat, then a Trans Peco rat, and then..

I know.lol.Im looking at a pair of leucistic black rats knowing I cant survive another 2 weeks without having them.I love the white oaks also.
How old till they are black? I have seen small ones in the pet store that are black.
I keep Black Rats myself, and I have a feeling that your snake is a 03 and not a 04 as you were told. They grow quickly, but not that quickly. No matter the age, you have one very nice looking snake.
I will have to post pictures of some of mine in the near future.
