Ralph Davis' bubblegum. It is a little bit lighter pink on the sides, but somewhat similar. Just another one to grow up and try to prove out.

Hey Sean,
I think it looks alot like a baby Calico. I hope that thing proves out for you. It will be interesting to see what that little guy will look like at six months old and after a few sheds. Good Luck Man.

Sean,

If you have not already, take a look at the baby calico pics on TSK's website and compare. Looks very close. Hell you could just send it this way and I will prove it out and then send the babies from the first clutch to you:P Again congradts!

Always gotta prove it before I name it. If it DOES prove out I will have to match it against some similar morphs to be sure it is unique. I don't think it is a "new" trait.

Time will tell!

Thanks...

Bubble gum was the first thing I thought of too. Where did you get it Sean? Nice looking snake.

Exotics by Nature May 14, 2005 11:58 PM

Basically... it came from Africa, Ghana I beleive. Could it be a colorful Calico? Maybe the ugliest Bubblegum or Sugar Ball that you've ever seen? I guess I will just wait and see. I just really want some public opinion. I will certainly keep you posted!

Thanks again!

Hi Sean,

Nice find and definitely worthy of a project. Like we all know only time will tell. It definitely will be interesting to see how it progresses. There is a slight resemblance of the Bubble Gum/Calico very interesting, good luck!

Best Wishes,

You snake is probably gonna have way more white then mine. I will post a photo or 2 of mine now at 400 /- grams. Thanks David

David,

Thanks for posting the pic and posting to the thread. I have seen the white pixelation quite a bit on really nice looking Pastels. I don't think that the white on Pastels has anything in common with the "Calico" morph. However it does seem to make a kick ass addition to the Pastel morph.

I will certainly keep you posted as to this animals changes with age.

Thanks again!

Sean, I wasn't saying that the Calico and my pastels are anything the same, I just noticed that when my pastel was a baby it looked similar to the baby you posted. Mine was no where near as extreme as yours but the areas in MY snake(pastel) looked very similar to what you showed us in your snake. I was just saying that I figure your light pink/clear areas will turn white as it gets older. But that is just my opinion and I think the area will be white as an adult. Anyhow good luck on your new project....I hope it proves to be a calico, and I am pretty sure it will. Does anyone have pictures of baby calico's? That might clear the air a bit. Thanks David

Another photo of my pastel with white areas...My pictures don't show the white how it really is. As a baby the white areas looked clear/pinkish. thanks David

I got one like that too a CH male that I got about 6 months ago. As a hatchling he had a salmon pink/peach looking coloring going on (the light area in the photos). He was pretty bright pink for several months, but with the last couple of sheds, it's started to yellow out with some peach speckling. I hope yours keeps it's color. Not sure if I have any baby pictures of this one, I'll look around.

This one hes in shed and a little dark but you can see the lighter area real good:

Tosha,

Thanks for the post. That animal is very nice looking. I have about 10 females or so that have that same look that you show and describe. It is certainly attractive. We tried to capture the coloration as best as possible but I guess it is somewhat hard to display.

This animal has a lighter coloration inside the pattern on the sides as opposed to the sort of "fade out" look to the animals like the one you posted. Its almost like there is color that is dark then lighter then the pink/white and then light then the dark dorsal pattern if that makes any sense.

I will be sure to post photos as it grows.

Thanks again!

Or are you just playing games?

Exotics by Nature May 15, 2005 05:56 PM

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you are saying.

Basically... if it proves out to be a Calico... then it will be called a Calico, not some other name. Basically whatever name is decided on by the masses. I see there are Calicos, Bubblegums, Sugars and Chicklets (I know Doug was probably just messing around with that last one)

No games here... just an interesting snake that I wanted some opinions on.

Thanks,

Yo good buddy! Wass up? Cool looking snake, lets see its belly! I got one this year that could be its sister. Picts later this week. Not quite like my other calico / bubblegums / chicklets though. PS Brian Potter really deserves the credit fpor the chicklet name. I was telling him about the lesser "bubblegums" on the phone and he said that it would be funny if I called them "chicklets" like small pieces of bubblegum. LOL. I should know more about my line of calicos this year good luck. Douglas Beard / Flora & Fauna

Exotics by Nature May 16, 2005 12:01 AM

Hey Man...

How have you been... kicking ass I hope! Anyways... here is a shot of the belly, I meant to post it with the others but forgot. It is what I can best describe as a "ringerish belly" if you know what I mean. I tell you this... the belly seems to be getting more colorful by the day!

Get some pics of your girl... maybe she is HIS sister. Yep a fella... I just hope he turns out to be a good breeder some day. I wasn't keeping the sex (of the snake that is) secret, I just wanted to see if anyone would ask... I guess not.

BTW... Brian... if you are reading... I liked the name "Chicklet Ball" it just seemed so DOUG! Didn't surprise me a bit when I read it on the display tag. I'm just surprised the bubblegums didn't say "Bubblicious!"

Thanks for the good wishes Doug... best of luck to you too!
