Hey my Mali is shedding, is there anything I can do to aid him through shedding. For instance like put in a damp box for him? please I am open to any suggestions.

Why is it that it seems to be that all uromastyx need help shedding. First of all before you even think of trying to 'help' him.. try and think how long he's been shedding. Uromastyx are very slow shedders.. it might take up to a week or more.

Is there a rough object in the tank for him/her to rub against?

A lot of people have suggested soaking the uro to help with shedding. I'm not sure if the damp box is a good idea because the high humidity levels could cause your uro to have breathing problems if you leave it in there too long. Best thing that has worked for me personally is to just leave the uro alone. As it grows bigger, the skin will come off very easily because it has gotten far too small. Give it some time. If your uro is still having trouble, then maybe soaking would help. Plus, make sure your uro's diet is high in water content during this period. It really seems to help the shed along.

I've not had any problems with my Mali's shedding, however some people like to do a warm soaking to help soften the skin so that it comes off a little easier. Mine usually manage to get it off themselves rubbing on things in their enclosures.

Make sure that you get it off their claws, because if you dont they could have circulation problems if the dead skin is on there too long.
