Not EXACTLY cham related, what Gecko is this?

gomezvi May 14, 2005 11:26 PM

I was just chased down as I was coming home by the neighborhood boys. They had caught some geckos and wanted some help.
Altogether, they had 5 of the little guys. I set them up with some 32 oz deli cups and moist coco fiber, so they could observe them for a few days. They look like young leopard geckos. I guess they were banded geckos.
I took a picture of the largest one. He looked different than the other three. I put a smallish full-sized cricket in with them for size comparison.
Anyone know exactly what sort of gecko this is?
BTW- HOT HOT HOT today. Overcas day, but muggy. Don't really like the heat, but I love all the neat stuff that lives here in AZ!!!!!

Did a google search.
Turns out that's exactly what it is. Seems they've been introduced to Texas, Florida, and Arizona among other places. Cute lil guys. And I do mean lil. Did you see the size of that cricket?!
Funny thing is, shortly after this pic was taken, the big guy was attacking that cricket. I don't think he had any chance of eating that cricket. I think he did it just out of spite.

Should refer to him as the Little Gecko that Could !

Yeah, they are small, but look pretty hardy!
