The temps will differ depending on your room temps but the max heat is around 120 degrees. You will have to use a thermostat with it...

That's kinda what I thought. I planned on using a BAH-1000 thermostat with it.
I got my 6' length in the mail from MOR Electric the other day. I went to Home Depot, got a plug end to put on it, installed it, then decided to plug it in to test it. I put a temp gun on it to see what the max temp would be in the event that the thermostat were to fail. Without being limited by a T.Stat, I'm getting surface temps of around 80 degrees.
The cable is installed in a routered groove on the underside (so the heat is being transmitted through the CDPVC) of an Animal Plastics cage. The CDPVC is 1/2 in. thick, but the groove is routered about 1/2 way through that thickness, so it only has to transfer through about 1/4 in. of material. The surface temps are only 80-81 degrees and the actual temp of the cable is only a degree or two higher.(I'm using a PE-1 temp gun for the readings)
I bought the constant wattage heat cable, not the self limiting with the built in T.Stat.
Thanks for your time,
Scott
