a beloved National Park ? Have anybody else ever notice this ? Today on the main Internet Explorer MSN page there are 15 recognized national parks without one word about Big Bend. They list Hot Springs Arkansas ? in which i didn't even know was a national park. With some of those other ones and some that I have been to, there are factors that keeps some folks away but not others. Some are ( and comparing these to Big Bend that doesn't have the same problems ), you cannot even drive into some areas, there are very long lines of vehicles trying to get in mostly at peak times, there is horrendous traffic problems in some parks, camping is very limited and even non-existing at times or waiting list of what I heard up to one year before, huge crowds that encounters with other fellow humans at all times of day, the atmosphere is cruddy, the lodging and other facilities are slim, etc. I've seen this happen time and time again with the non-listing and or non-mentioning of the Big Bend in television and newspapers concerning national parks. Maybe it's just to far away or off the mainstream boundaries of vehicular travel to be mentioned ? I think this is true but isn't this what a lot of park visiting folks want ?

Well after reading what the other parks turn into when all those people flock in, maybe it's better in the Bend just the way it is.
