I couldn't believe my eyes

I got a 7 month old Chuckwalla about 3 weeks ago and the pattern is really nice, but is a dull brown and beige. Well the dullness was the starting of shedding and today I gently pulled off some of the skin and what emerged amazed me. I could belive how bright the back was and it has a lot of orange speckles. I have to get my camera working so I can post a picture. Obviously not as beautiful as Chewalla, but still really nice. Now are the males more colorful than the females? I don't know what it is yet, but when I looked underneath the femoral pores were pretty noticable. I love these Chucks!! They are great pets - very personable.

As in many species, not human of course, the male chuckwalla is the more colorful.

Female chucks don't have a cosmetics counter, highlights, or pushup bras to keep up with the human females. Come to think of it, neither of the males do either.
