HELP! my tokay cant stick to walls anymore.

butters11 May 15, 2005 01:13 PM

Yesterday i was handling my tokay and i successfully tamed him down. I wore a knit glove for fifthteen minutes but after i just used my hands. I noticed that now he cant stick to glass, walls, or even bark. I didn't break his toes at all i am sure of that, it is that i am worried that he wont be able to climb ever again.

THanx in advance JOe

Maybe it is about to shed. I think that would be a main reason for non-stickiness. Try and keep the humidity up for him and see if he sheds.

handling can cause some stress and maybe affect his ability to stick for a while. I've also observed this before and believe they pic up oils off your hands or any part of your skin they may be on while holding them. Usually after a couple hours I notice them sticking again. I'm taking it that this a healthy tokay to begin with.
