Can I house 2 females together?

thelc May 15, 2005 07:36 PM

I have a female leo and have recently purchased another female leo. Can I house them together? I put them near each other on a table and my first one began swaying her tail back and forth then she sniffed the new leos butt and attempted to bite her tail. What does this mean and what should I do about housing them? thanks in advance.

Yes you can but make sure you've qurantined htem if one is new and that they are the same size. Are tyou sure they are both females though, the behavior you described kinda sounded like one is a male. Also, before you house them together it might be better for you to clean out the cage and move some stuff around so that they are both introduced into the new cage without other leo smells and the one you've had won't get so territorial. Keep a close watch on them though, if you tell one is bullying the other or being a lil to "mean" seperate them immediately. Good luck.
