Impacted leopard gecko HELP!!!

yellowconda12 May 15, 2005 10:41 PM

I have a 2-3 month old leopard gecko who was impacted and I have taken him/her to the vet. The vet is using a laxative called lactulose, and has instructed me to start force feeding the gecko baby crickets, pinheads. I am at a loss, because I have never force fed anything before. I was wondering a couple of things can you pinch a leopard geckos mouth open like you can do with some other lizards by squeezing the jaw, how do I not hurt the baby lizard? I am killing the crickets before and have wiped their insides on her snout, but with no response. Should I use slurry instead of crickets? Any help appreciated!!
