Question about Females spurs

BOASELECTER May 16, 2005 02:47 AM

I have just purchased another pair of boas - they are about 3 - 4 years old - they were probed at the time of purchase but now I see what I believed to be the female has very pronpunced spurs alot more than the male - is this normal? thaught the male had bigger spurs or am I wrong - Really dont want to have 2 males as this would probably make it quite difficult to breed them lol.

cheers

sam

Hi Sam,
Yes the females have spurs but they are much smaller then males (I have never had a female with pronounced spurs like a male would have) I would double check you female again an see what the issue is. Also the tails should be much different with the males tail being longer and thicker then the females.
Good Luck, I hope it works out, I am pretty sure theban on same sex marriages holds true for snakes too LOL!
