15 watt bulb

how much would a 15watt bulb heat a 24x 12 x 18 tank? im plannig on using one for light not heat but i dotn want it to heat it up too much

That is really something you will have to try to find out the results. Alot of factors come into play when with things like that. I woudl suggest getting a wattage larger then you think you will need and then putting it on a dimmer so you are in control of the heat...

Why use an incandescent bulb?
Compact and standard florescents offer much more light with much less heat & energy consumption.
