WC Coastal Plains Milk

jbaylin May 16, 2005 03:40 PM

This is a WC Coastal Plains Milk from Tyrell County that was collected and photographed by my friend George Grall a couple of weekends ago. This is one of the prettiest I've seen.

Wow, that is a screamer. How long is that snake? I can't tell from the pic. If that is a sub adult it is really off the charts. Thanks for posting Tom Stevens

Tom,

It looks to be about a year old, It's still pretty small, but it is eating newborn pinks.

Amazing looking snake. These milks dont seem to be to popular. I rarely if ever see them in pics or for sale.
Hard to breed, dont do well in captivity?

jbaylin May 18, 2005 03:50 PM

They are quite easy to breed and do well in captivity. The problem is with the hatchlings. They are very small and require some time and patience to get them on to pinks. Otherwise they are great. I have a couple clutches in the incubator right now. Here is some from last year.

Thanks,

Jason

Thanks. The babies I imagine ground skink eaters?

jbaylin May 18, 2005 04:19 PM

That's exactly what they start on.
