How do redtails do with traveling?

sprastr May 16, 2005 09:33 PM

I'm considering a boid of some sort but was checking around to find out how different species do with moving/traveling. Anyone take theirs on any extended car trips/hotel stays/vacations stuff like that? Any info on how it worked for you and your details of transport would be great.

they tend to be grumpy and can easily get motion sickness without lots of fresh air.. only kidding...

seriously, this is not the 'pocket pet' you may be wanting...

They should be kept in optimal conditions at all times...

so, unless you feel like carrying and setting up the full enclosure you have home everywhere else you go (car, hotel, poolside..(lol) it wouldn't be optimal for your snake, and you would be putting his health at risk.

Obviously, things like this happen. Just getting ready for a big reptile show, such as Daytona, can entail shipping them for a day or two, then minimal conditions in a hotel room and/or display case for another few days.. but we make every attempt to make it as good as possible for them and they are monitored very closely.
This is an extreme situation and something we would never do just because we wanted to.

Hope all works out well for you and your pet.
