We used to use the 4 1/2 qt sterilite's but they discontinued them...now they make the 6 qt tub.
they are fine. Good luck.

So, you have 7 snakes arriving today, and you come on here frantically seeking an answer to a question on how best to care for them? Since the snakes are arriving this morning, you have to send a freind out to buy enclosures for them, THIS MORNING? Why on Earth wouldn't you look into this before hand, say on the day you ordered them (of course before would have been better).
To answer your question, yes 6 qt tubs will be fine. How do you plan to heat them? Are you using the lid that comes with the tub as a top? If so, how are you going to secure them? DO you have hides for them that will fit in the tiny tubs? Have you done anything to prepare for them?
Sorry if I sound rude, but step back and look at what you posted and what we can infer from your post. You may be a great guy, but you sure don't seem prepared for your new arrivals. Not trying to rip on you, but from the way your post reads, we can only wonder how long it will be before we see a post that reads:
"QUICK QUICK QUICK...I have seven baby balls. 3 are missing, 2 have respiratory infections, and the other 2 wont eat"
i have 18 bp's, the ones im getting today. my friend went to pick them up because i very well couldnt not be here for the snakes arrival i have ALL the necessary equipment to heat and house .the 6 qt tub is only temporary and when i hatched my babies back in october i had larger tubs in my possesion already that would be utilized all my question was is a 6qt tub sufficient housing for a hatchling no more no less
I dont remember at all in the post that i posted me asking ANYONE on how to care for them.MOST people can use common sense, but i havent really dealt with many shipped hatchlings and for anyone to ask a legitimate ? and to be ripped apart by someone like YOU ,totally defeats the purpose of this forum and makes other people interested on the best care for their animal be it snake, dog or cat not want to ask ?z because they dont want to be made to sound stupid or uneducated, so in turn they have noone to turn to.I think that is disgusting, I have always offered my help to anyone in this forum if it was a topic i could offer assistance on, despite the ? asked,Id go on but i feel i have made my point if you choose to debate this more you can email me at nyhellraiser@earthlink.net and id be more than happy to throw down
I wasn't attcking you at all. In fact, I tried very hard to be polite. I was merely pointing out the obvious. We have too many irresponsible keepers in our community (not that you are one...). The people who are trying to limit or control our ability to keep snakes would use a post like yours to defend their position. I apologize...I didn't mean to offend.
I always try to have my enclosures ready (with water bowls filled) in advance. That way I don't have to sweat anything. Ship. Receive. Place in new (quarantine) home. Simple.
Either way is probably fine.

I must say you jumped the gun on this one JP.
Anything could of happend you know, you think you have 10 tubs in the back room, then when you go to grab them they are gone. Who know's what happend, and EVERY time someone ask's a question though it might seem stupid to you, they would not of asked if they didn't want to know the right way to do it.
Some of you realy need to get off your high horse, and help out someone who took the time to ask so they could learn, or make sure, they were doing it right.
If you can't post and help them out, then maybe you should not post.
Have a nice day.
