New Orleans Snakes.......

Piebald and I are heading out to New Orleans in the French Quarter this Sunday for a week. Does anyone know of anything of interest we can see relating to our number one passion....snakes!!

Yes...the zoo in New Orleans has a descent collection of native and non native herps. You can take the riverboat from in front of the Aquarium (at the end of Canal St., at the river). You can buy a package that includes admission to the aquarium, the zoo, and the boat ride for a reasonable price. The aquarium has lots of cool stuff too, as well as an IMAX theater. Have fun.

Thanks so much, JP. Greatly appreciate your information. I did see the aquarium listed on the map near where we are staying. My husband plans to scope the area looking for fun things (snakes & gators) he THINKS he's gonna bring home in his suitcase!! lol Have to keep my eye on him!!

There are also tons of swap tours to see and feed gators, etc. They're all about the same I think. I've done a couple of different ones down there. They all pick you up and return you to your hotel as well. You'll find brochures at your hotel.

If you have the slightest interest in things aquatic, don't miss it!! The zoo is nice too, but I was super impressed by the Aquarium.
