Regurgitation Problems

macajuel May 17, 2005 01:54 PM

Hey guys, last night I fed my boas (b.c.i.) I noticed that my female (the pig of the group) ate 2 out of the 3 med mice that i fed her and then regurgitated one. so i left her alone for a few and observed her. not too long later she went on to eat both mice.(even the one she had spit up!) Is this ok? she is 4 feet and should be eating large mice but i fed her 3 med. any help would be greatly apprec.

i have noticed that sometimes after they eat one food item the stress of having to eat another one will sometimes make em spit up . try a larger food item but feed only one .

Nothing wrong with live. Just kill the rat before you feed.

Seperate from the regurge issue, don't just stick 2-3 mice/rats in the tank. Feed them one at a time, whether they are live, prekilled, or f/t.

If it hasn't happened before, don't worry too much about the regurgitation, unless it persists. There could be any number of reasons why it came back up.

Just make sure the prey isn't too large. It can do damage coming out the wrong way (feet first).
