A quick question?

I recently attended a pet expo at the mall in Sheboygan, WI and they had a herp society there and on hand they hand a bunch or reptiles. Well to make a long story short they had a albino burm that was about 13ft and i notice that the snake was in full shed. His eyes were greyed over. Now this was a pet expo so there were dogs, cats and rabbits. Well they were letting kids hold this burm and take pictures with it. I'm I wrong or is this dangerous? I'm currently writing a letter to one of the members to give to the pres. and I was kinda looking for some expert opinions. please feel free to post info that will help me.
Thanks to all who help,
Reptiqueen

yeah that would be dangerous if a very young child was holding a bunny and then went to hold the burm because it would smell that rabbit which would be bad

I realy have a problem with this line of questioning,a valid answer was given, but, it looks to me like the original question was posed to give a "black eye" to the herp comunity again !its stated that shes prepairing a letter for the media !All of us get punished by the stupid acts of a few,we dont as a comunity need to feed the media !my opinion, but this issue should have been adressesd WHEN IT WAS HAPPENING ! not thrown to the media after the fact.

I'm sorry there must be some misunderstanding, if you really read my first post the letter was for the herp society not the media and as you can tell by my name i love reptiles not trying to hurt anyone just trying to help someone from getting hurt. I am a very quite and shy person who hates comfrintation ( sorry for the spelling). I know it should have been addressed when it was happening but I didn't. I was interested in joining but I'm not so sure of it now. My post was to find out if that was a bad idea or not to address the herp soceity not to put them in a spot light from the media. thats the last thing i want. next time read the post it never said media, it says to the herp society. and if it doesn't it still never mentions the media.

Yeah guys. That "pres." was in fact "president" (of the expo) and not "press". And we all have to admit that with prey items and a stressful environment, it probably wasnt the smartest idea. But no harm done so far and hopefully they'll think a little more next time.

My mistake,I apologise.
Still this situation should have been adressed in a professional maner at the time,,,we all need to be aware and help police ourselves,to prevent issues ,and problems.
