does any one here now a good place to get fair priced 50-60gal tanks for bearded dragons i am trying to go to a bigger size. pet co and petsmart here in corpus only carry up to a 40gal tank for reptiles. the fish tanks are just not a good width, or way too expensive. plus i have noticed a new type of tank or aquarium for reptiles out on the market at petco the exoterra enclosures with two open outward small doors in the fron they are really cool but the onws i saw were perfect for leopard gecko's but noy quite big enough for beardies. if there was a size i could house my beardie in i would get it. there are just awsome enclosure's. well if any one knows any good places out there please let me know thanx.

Prices are a little different for me because I live in Canada. But when I made a 4 foot long by 2 foot width and 3 1/2 feet high terrarium for my lizards, with plexi glass lining the inside to hold in a repti background, screen partial top for lights and swing open doors with plexi inside cost me about 100.00 - 140.00 dollars canadian. The cost to buy one that big was about the same price. Without the background.

You should if you have time look into making one. Homemade touch is nice!

Yard sale season is coming around again! Always a good place to look. Also, buy/sell/trade magazines like Uncle Henrys (that is a new england one, im sure there are others for other area's) are great as well. I was looking through Uncle Henry's the other day and found a 100gallon aquarium for sale for 60$! What a deal!

The cheapest way to go is to build your own, as mentioned in another post under here. You can convert furnature into cages as well. A wide set of drawers can be converted by taking out the drawers, adding a floor (or supporting a current one) creating a door either with plexi-glass or screen, then just add fixtures etc. Garage sales certainly can yield unwanted 75gal tanks or more. Also aquarium supply stores may have tanks that are leaking or cracked they will sell cheap (check your yellow pages, you may be surprised what people are doing as home based buisnesses) Those bargain type books the other poster mentioned are a good source, if you don't mind traveling abit. ALso check the classifieds here on kingsnake, under cages and reptile supplies. May find some good used stuff there.
