I cant help much with the humid hide but as for the crickets escaping you should have a lid on all your enclosures for the safety of the herps inside. I use all glass aquariums with screen lids available from most pet stores. I have a sea shell that I keep in the enclosure with the powder supplement in it. I am not sure how this works but the nice lady at the pet store who takes care of the herp very well and knows her stuff said to put it in there. I still dust the prey items but putting them in a bag with the supplement powder and shaking it to coat them before offering them to the herp.

The humid hide should be big enough so that your leo can get in, turn around and lie down comfortably.

As far as dusting, it depends on the age of your leo. All leo's should have constant access to a dish of straight calcium. Do not allow them constant access to a multivitimin as they can overdose. For babies their crickets should be dusted with calcium every day or every other day. Adults can have their crickets dusted with calcium once a week. All leo's should have their crix dusted with a vitimin powder once a week or once every two weeks.

Hope this helps.
