O/T I went herping again

niki_athena May 18, 2005 12:16 PM

This time in a canyon in Utah while following my husband as he searched for caves.

The next day he brought me to a warm spring in Utah because he knew I wanted to herp there

We caught a lot of herps, so I am not going to post them all here.

1st day: gray spiny lizards, ?bull snake

2nd day: unknown lizard, black spiny lizard, leopard lizard, horned lizard, ?gopher snake

This leopard lizard is the closest thing I caught to a collared

I posted 3 photos of him in "Lizard: What kind?"

Here I'll just post one. He lived 100 ft from a warm spring in a burrow he made himself and ran with a swivel in his hips. He was very strong for his size with a dark forked tongue like a snake.
