Great outdoors/portable cage idea - anyone seen or tried one?

rozdaboff May 18, 2005 01:51 PM

I found this while I was looking at a few reptile supply websites. It is made by exoterra. Looks like a great idea, and a good size (24"x36". Has anyone tried them?

Upon further investigation, there are actually 3 sizes of this cage. Seem like they would be excellent for allowing sunning outdoors.

interesting...these have been sold for insect rearing for years. I wonder if the the mesh is like that of a reptarium or finer where claws could get caught. Might be easy to make one, too I would think.

Reptile Depot had some at the show over the weekend. They were pretty neat, and the larger one was good sized. I didn't really look at them closely, but they were made similarly to a Reptarium. The biggest drawback I saw was that they looked to be a bit of work to clean, but for sunning they'd be great. I didn't see how they were priced though.

I tried out the zipper on it and it worked okay. The zipper was curved though so I think it may cause some zipper problems after time. They were priced around $49 so a little lower at the show then the price you showed.
