Sick baby update and question

cws Jul 12, 2003 11:24 AM

Thanks everyone for your knowledgeable advice. He still has not eaten or gone to the bathroom, but is much more active today. I have another question. Does any one know of a good way to make sure the babies are drinking water? I have not noticed them drinking. So, I am worried about dehydration. Thanks Again-cws

There are two ways to get dragons to drink water. One is misting. I used to mist whole clutches in their cage then clean and dry the cage. The other way is to soak them. This is my current path. I soak them in a shoebox in shallow luke warm water. I mist the dragons when i first place them in the shoebox to get them drinking. They soon realize that once in the water they can drink. This also clears them out of their cages and allows me to clean out their cages.

Thanks for the good tip. In an attempt to run out any disease they might have, I have separated the two, I clean everything in their cage once a day. When I am doing this, I have been putting them in separate big Tupperware containers. Next time, I will fill the bottom of the bowls with a little water so they can soak while I clean.

I use a spray bottle but you could use a clean medicine dropper. I hold them and let one drop at a time sit on the end of thier nose. When they start licking, keep the drops coming one at a time. Also, soaks will help.

Good luck!

Hi
i always use a plantmister .
then i start with misting them like say 10 seconds then i stop.
waith 1 min most of time they wil start to drink and then i sqeese in the plantmister very slow so a drop wil fall then i let the drop fall on tip of his snout !!
i think every dragon here drink that way.
if drop fall on ehad they wil lower there head and starts to drink.
byeeeeeee
