genetics question?

my2cents May 18, 2005 10:38 PM

Hey all,
If my albino female breeds with my albino green male will I get normal looking burms that are poss. het for albino and albino green? I really don't understand that if it is correct. Anyone have any reccommended reading on the subject? I remember hearing about an author by the name of Bechtel I think? Anyway any info would be appreciated.
Ed

If you breed them you will get albino,100% het for green babies. So no you would not get any normals, they would all be albino.

I wish I could help with a book, but I haven't looked for any.

Good luck.

Have a good day.

I recommend you go to newenglandreptile.com. That is NERDS website and they have a series of articles on genetics. Very basic but covers all the bases and will leave you with a lot more understanding of genetics and how to determine potential offspring. Hope this helps. Todd

Todd,
I think it was you who recommended an author about a year ago. I can't find my files that I printed with the info. Does Bechtel, as an author, ring any bells? i will check out NERD'S site. Thanks,
Ed
