I have six crickets in the enclosure. They have been in there for a couple hours and still alive. How long do you wait to determine if it is safe to occupy. They are in an open bucket with some water.
Thanks
Travis

Travis,
It is important that the crickets be directly exposed to the solvent fumes. If the bucket were upside down with the crickets underneath, that would be a much more effective test. They won't die of suffocation.
If the bucket is just sitting in there you probably have very little in the way of fumes settling down into the bottom of the bucket. At least if I understand how you're doing this. It will not duplicate what your snake will experience, especially when it's sitting in a hide box that may trap fumes.
At any rate, wait a day on the crickets.
Chris

Current snakes:
0.1 Gonyosoma oxycephala - (Silver/Yellow)
1.2 Gonyosoma oxycephala - (Green)
7.6 Gonyosoma janseni - (Black)
0.1 Gonyosoma janseni - (Black & Tan)
OK, this morning all the crickets were alive and fine.
So I put the boa back in her enclosure. Pictures will be posted this after noon.
Thanks
Travis
