Little worried....

kay1688 May 19, 2005 04:18 PM

I have heard about beardies sort of hibernating but i don't know if thats what my beardie is trying to do and whether i should just leave him to it.

For a couple of weeks he has been sleeping for days then getting up for a day then sleeping again. i have left some locusts and wax worms in his tank but i don't know if he is eating them. his greens seem to be disapearing so he is having something. Should i just leave him or should i get him up?

Also he has never drank water so i have mist him with water twice a day since i got him, usually he will lick teh water as i am spraying it but he hasn't done for a long while now. I have even tried leaving him a couple of days and trying again but he doesn't seem bothered

apart from teh strange sleeping pattern and the water he is acting normal, his temps haven't changed and he has always enjoyed his diet before.

An information will be more than appreciated
Thank you in advance

Kay

In the winter my beardies sleep all the time. Especially my girl. She sometimes doesn't move for weeks at a time. Then in the spring she wakes up and is active all summer.

Don't worry. Let them sleep if they want to. Give them a soaking in the tub if you're worried about dehydration.

Hi
i would take a fresh poop to a veterian and let him check it.
hiding, sleeping on cooler places and not eat much can be signs of some kind of parasite like worms.
put a poop in a ziplocked bag and bring it so fresh as posibal to a veterian.
dont put it in a freezer r fridgde then the parasite wil be killed and r harder to see for a vet.
