Anerythristic boas???

STUART May 19, 2005 11:52 PM

Hi from my post below I took a picture of a "normal" tailed baby next to an anerythristic looking one. Anyone think this boa is actually anerythristic? Out of the 8 babies 6 are like this. She had 8 babies and 5 slugs. This picture was taken on unprinted newspaper which is more cream colored than white.

but these are kids from a poss het T Positive Colombian pairing, am I right?
In that case, talk to Tracy Barker. She has been working with them and rumor is she has a new line of pastels that came from this line.
Perhaps that is what you are seeing... just very reduced melanin..
Maybe, it's even an indicator! Ask her if the hets look a certain way as opposed to the normals... it could be that one adult was het and the other not, so one type or look or your babies could be the hets and the other look could be the commons.. (since you would have a 50% poss het litter)
just shooting for the stars here...

They look very Anery in the picture, but digital film is very tricky and can cause the look of an Anery Boa when it is really just washed out looking. But dang that would be a good trick on this one. As far as them being T hets, if that was based on the thought that the snake you posted below was a T then I would have to say know I don’t think they are hets. Although that is a beautiful Boa and has a definite different look to it, I do not think it is a T albino. Oddly it has a definite reduction in Black pigment making it very likely a Hypo of some kind (obviously recessive) which is kind of funny in that she threw Anery Boas? You have a cool little project on your hands, but I wish I could direct you to what it is. It would be worth keeping a couple pairs to breed back and see what they become. I would keep a pair of the Anery looking ones as well as the normal looking ones, maybe even breed them to each other.
Good Luck
