Does anyone do this?
I want to micro-chip my snakes, and I'm not sure where to get the equipment.

Any help out there??

Thanks!!

Every single one of our animals is chipped. We have been doing it for years. It is a dated article, but go to www.pythons.com/trovan.html and see a paper we wrote on the subject about ten years ago. I'll update the pictures and text eventually. We are now using the AVID system, which is very simple to use. It is especially useful when you are breeding a group of animals (a bunch of normal females for instance) .. you can scan the female breeding the male and immediate tell which one is being bred. The positive ID factor for hets is also an obvious plus. Callor email me if you want more info.

if you are in the Los Angeles area, I can tell you a vet that provides the service if you are not able to get the equiptment yourself.

Thanks a lot, but I'm just going to end up buying this equipment. $300 for the scanner and about 20 chips isn't too bad.
