Is it normal.....

Nicko Jul 12, 2003 01:22 PM

for my girl to basically stay in her hides at all times other than to come out to eat and poop? I never really see her come out to just walk around or anything other than for those reasons. She's about 3 months old, so is this something that changes when she gets older? Or is this just going to be her way?

It doesnt matter to me either way, I was just wondering if it was normal

My leo Phoenix is also a hider....he only comes out to eat, poop, drink, and to walk from hide to hide every once in a while. My leo Beanie on the other hand is quite the explorer and strolls around her tank day or night. It really depends on the leo I guess. Leos are nocturnal so it is only natural for them to hide during the day. Maybe your leo is coming out in the dead of night while you are asleep??? That's what my leo Phoenix does.

Not yet....maybe today sometime. I realized last night I didnt have many mealworms left, so after she at all the live ones I decided to try some of the can o' worms I had laying around. I had them before I knew they liked things that move, so I hadnt tried them. I was surprised because she was eating the dead ones right up. I guess they'll be a good back up

It's normal for leo's to hide during the day as they are nocturnal (they are primarly active during the night). There are some exceptions, some leos just seem to love to explore and walk around their enclosures all day long. n/p
