Is this a piebald?

xjchad May 20, 2005 12:38 PM

I bought my first ball python a couple of months ago from a guy in the recycler who said it is a piebald. It was only $50 and not in the best condition (but not bad either) so I bought it. I've kept/keep lots of other snakes (mostly local) so I wasn't too concerned, and he seems to be doing really well. However, the more I read the less I think he really is a piebald. Please check out the pics and let me know what y'all think.
Thanks,
Chad

he is a bullseye ringer... seems to be a random thing in ball pythons... But not genetic to my knowledge.

Cool snake..... worth the 50 bucks

Genetic pieds have snow white bellies even the low white ones...

Here is mine

Thanks for the reply. He is a cool snake. Very calm and friendly. So are ringers just a random thing? I'd like to find out more about them.
Thanks agian,
Chad

That doesn't look like a ringer.
That looks like a healed injury.
When injuries (such as a rat bite or burn) heal, the healed area is white.
