Bloods in the future?

dhrsterling May 20, 2005 03:58 PM

I have been offer a pair of albino bloods and a new genetic mutation for a reasonible price I believe. I am seeing if getting some investment quality bloods is a good call on my part? I have a lot of quality balls and am thinking of being a little diverse. Do albinos keep their price good and is there a good market for them? And what is a good price for a pair of t albino bloods?

Thanks for the comments.

I think it's a no-brainer...bloods are going to continue to grow in popularity as the perfect "giant" snake in a smaller package, especially when you consider how strict legislation may become regarding truly giant snakes (which I'm against - I think giants in the right hands are just awesome, but then again they're not for everyone...that's another soapbox entirely).

We're just at the tip of the iceberg with bloods in regards to people understanding how wonderful they really are. For years, retics had the monster reputation of being nasty, uncontrollable, unrewarding snakes, and look at them now, especially in light of all the color/pattern mutations and dwarf projects. The fabulous thing about bloods & STP's is that you don't need dwarves, and you can't beat a smokin' red snake with a STICK!!

It's coming...can you feel it?

Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean

I'm thinking the same thing. I could see bloods take over the ball market with a few more morphs. I havent breed bloods myself but I hear they have 20 babies. If this is true, then the market won't hold too well. Ball prices hold because they have small clutches, burmese prices fall quickly due to large clutch sizes. But, if you spend $3200 on a pair of albino bloods and sell 20 babies for $200 each when they breed, you will show a profit, and I don't think they would fall to $200 in the time it takes to breed them.
