In case you haven’t seen this affordable unit ($12, of course air pump is a hidden expense, still, very nice), see http://www.herpsupplies.com/product.cfm?id=SIM90026

I’ve been using a couple simultaneously in a 125G fish tank. Works well. Allows you to cover the top, and it supplies fresh air and humidity.

I’ve been disinfecting the unit(s) using Nolvasan. It runs for a long time before refills, ~1 month. Even then, I’ve been thinking that this is overkill, maybe every other time. The point is that the water in the unit is not sitting stagnant, it is boiling violently from the air stone. And the air in the tube is moving rapidly.

Any other thoughts / experiences.

Kind thanks in advance,

Leon
